The First Time.
In 1995, Don Wightman had an idea. He thought it might be possible to establish a leading mechanical firm in BC, with a little hard work and his own brand of expertise. That year, he launched PML Professional Mechanical Ltd. (PML). He started small with just one service truck and a simple commitment to customer service, “We will do things right the first time.”
Growth brought new service trucks, new technicians and opportunities for larger projects. Within a few years PML launched its Retrofit Division, rebuilding and replacing both air conditioning and heating systems.
The success of the Retrofit Division led to bigger and better projects including a few small construction projects which were designed in house. This led to the launch of the Construction Division, which developed into an important company service. A track record of successful jobs in the Construction Division led to new relationships and bigger projects.
Over the years, Don never lost sight of his original commitment to customer service. PML provides expertise to all facets of mechanical contracting from design and build to construction, f\re protection, service, preventative maintenance and retrofit.

Our Design and Build team includes several LEED accredited professionals, whose mandate is to bring a sustainable approach throughout all phases of the design and installation of building mechanical systems.
At PML, we provide comprehensive building services, with an awareness and concern for the energy consumption and environmental footprint of the entire system, including the HVAC and the mechanical and fire protection systems. We understand the interactions between systems and we can advise on, design, upgrade, and install optimized systems for buildings or complexes of nearly any size. We are experienced in working with designers and architects to create comfortable, energy-saving total systems that apply advanced technologies and/or achieve LEED certification.
