We are currently recruiting for a Tenant Improvement Journeyperson Plumber who is looking to get out of the weather, expand their knowledge and work in our Special Projects Division doing only Tenant Improvement type work. Experience in leading and interested in developing their leadership skills.
Job Responsibilities:
- Work on multiple jobs at once
- Construct plumbing and mechanical systems
- De-construct, remove and replace existing plumbing systems
- Competent in interpreting mechanical drawings
- Conduct take-offs and manage materials
- Able to direct sub-contractors as required
- Attend start up meetings & meet inspectors
- Train and provide guidance to apprentices
Qualifications:
- Must have a valid BC Drivers licence
- Must have basic computer skills
- Must have good knowledge of the Plumbing Code
- AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (required)
- Holds a Red Seal Certification in Plumbing (required)
- Holds a class “B” gas ticket
- Experienced with Mechanical, Architectural, and Structural drawings and specifications, with the capability to coordinate across various disciplines
- Skilled in performing take-offs, and material management
- Familiarity with sub-trade scopes, scheduling, and potential conflicts
- Competence in supervising and mentoring apprentices in their 1st to 4th years
- Effective communication with colleagues, tradespeople, and sub-trades, maintaining a professional approach when necessary
- Adherence to written and verbal instructions, promoting collaborative construction practices across all projects.
What’s in it for you:
- Journeyperson wage is $47.34 + 12% Holiday Pay ($47.34 +$5.68/hr = $53.02 total after holiday pay)
- Wage increases occur on May 1st, 2025
