Located in Duncan, BC, our Construction Team is seeking a Project Manager to manage projects on jobsites within the Victoria to Comox region of Vancouver Island, BC.

The Project Manager is responsible for the overall project planning and scheduling, resource allocation, and project control. Ensures that specifications are being followed and work is proceeding and delivered on schedule and within budget.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review GC issued contracts & confirm scope with estimate
  • Develop & Issue budget
  • Develop and issue project forecasting report
  • Work with Project Accountant and Controller to satisfy project financial restraints
  • Work with Purchasing to negotiate supplier pricing/terms & conditions scope
  • Negotiate subcontractors/complete subcontractor checklist and scope of work letters
  • Work with Director of Field Operations to implement labour and install strategies
  • Review shop drawings for submittal and review of returned submittals
  • Manage and develop mechanical construction and labour loaded schedule
  • Coordinate with Field Supervision to manage PML subtrades
  • Manage Change Order process
  • Review SI(s)/RFI responses and all other GC communication for scope implications
  • Work with Project Coordinators to ensure all project documentation is current
  • Complete monthly progress billing
  • Attend monthly construction reporting meetings
  • Work with Field Supervision to develop QA/QC processes (FTQ)
  • Apply for all necessary permits
  • Maintain relationships with GC’s, suppliers, subtrades, etc.
  • Ensure project closeout tasks and documentation completed prior to substantial completion

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Project documentation complete and current for construction meetings
  • Maintain progress on site with construction and mechanical schedules
  • Project cost capped at 100% of budget excluding labour
  • Project labour cost capped at 105% of budget
  • Architectural, engineering, construction management or related education preferred
  • Exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
